What it costs
A labiaplasty costs €3,000 to €7,000, from about €3,300 under a local anaesthetic in a day clinic. Our price guide shows what's included and what moves the price.
Consultations and the trip home from Dublin
Within Dublin the trips are short. Don't plan to drive yourself home after the operation, and if it's under a general anaesthetic, you'll need an adult to collect you and stay with you that night. Sitting is sore for the first few days, so a taxi or a lift beats the bus.
Choosing a surgeon
Every doctor practising in Ireland must be registered with the Medical Council, and only a doctor with specialist registration can practise independently as a specialist. For labiaplasty, look for a surgeon on the Specialist Division in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, or a gynaecologist on the Specialist Division in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, using the Medical Council's online register.
Ask which technique they'd use, local or general anaesthetic, how many check-ups are in the price, and who you ring at night if something worries you.
After a baby
15,067 babies were born to mothers living in County Dublin in 2024. Birth is one reason women ask about labiaplasty. Anything that hurts or healed badly after a birth is medical care first: see your GP or maternity hospital. Read labiaplasty after childbirth.
Is it the right time?
Labiaplasty isn't for you yet if:
- you're under 18
- you're pregnant, had a baby in the last six months or are still breastfeeding
- you have itching, soreness or a skin change that hasn't been checked by a GP
- you're being pushed into it by a partner or anyone else
- you expect it to fix how you feel about your body on its own
Questions from Dublin
Where in Dublin would I have it?
Dublin has more plastic surgeons than anywhere else in Ireland, so you can choose a surgeon close to home and keep the check-ups short. Choose on the surgeon first, then on how easy the check-ups are from home.
How many trips will I make from Dublin city centre?
Usually about three: the consultation, the operation as a day case, and a check-up afterwards. Some clinics do the first consultation by video.
Is labiaplasty cheaper in Dublin?
Not really. Prices around the country sit in the same range, €3,000 to €7,000. The anaesthetic, the technique and the surgeon move the price more than the county.
Will anyone know why I'm going?
Only if you tell them. We never mention the procedure in texts, and we ask the clinic not to name it in a text or a voicemail either.
Who will contact me if I enquire from Dublin?
One clinic, not five. We pass your enquiry to one Irish clinic and they contact you to arrange a private consultation. Nothing is booked until you say yes.
