Our price guide
| Procedure | Typical cost in Ireland | What moves the price |
|---|---|---|
| Labiaplasty (inner lips), all in | €3,000 to €7,000 | The technique, local or general anaesthetic, a day clinic or a hospital, and whether the hood is reduced too |
| Labiaplasty under local anaesthetic, day clinic | From about €3,300 | Home the same day; some clinics include the consultation and the check-ups |
| Consultation with the surgeon | Free to €200 | Free at some clinics, sometimes by video first; sometimes taken off the price |
| Vaginoplasty (a different operation) | €6,000 to €7,500 | Tightens the vagina itself; a longer operation, not part of a labiaplasty |
What's included
- The surgeon's fee and the clinic or hospital fee
- The anaesthetic, and the anaesthetist for a general
- Dissolving stitches, dressings and painkillers to take home
- Your check-ups afterwards, and a number to ring at night
What pushes it up or down
- Up: a general anaesthetic in a hospital theatre
- Up: reducing the clitoral hood in the same operation, or a revision of earlier surgery
- Down: a trim under local anaesthetic in a day clinic
- Not a factor: the county. Prices outside Dublin sit in the same range
Prices in euro for the full procedure. This is our guide, not a quote: the surgeon sets your price after examining you, in writing. No Irish price is published for clitoral hood reduction alone or for a revision; both are priced after an examination.

Why one quote is higher than another
Three things move the price most. The anaesthetic: a local anaesthetic in a day clinic costs less than a general anaesthetic with an anaesthetist in a hospital theatre. The technique: a simple trim takes less time than a wedge, and reducing the clitoral hood in the same operation adds time. And the surgeon: a consultant on the specialist register, operating in a hospital, charges more than a day clinic.
The county you live in makes little difference. Most people travel to the surgeon they choose, and prices around the country sit in the same range.
What a fair quote includes
- The surgeon's fee and the clinic or hospital fee
- The anaesthetic, and the anaesthetist if it's a general
- Dissolving stitches, dressings and the painkillers to take home
- Your check-ups afterwards, and a number to ring at night
- What happens, and who pays, if a small revision is needed
Ask for the price in writing before you pay a deposit. Some clinics offer a free first consultation, sometimes by video; others charge up to about €200 and may take it off the price if you go ahead.
Clitoral hood reduction and revisions
Reducing the clitoral hood is often done in the same operation. Ask whether your quote includes it. A revision of an earlier labiaplasty is priced only after the surgeon has examined you, because every case is different; read labiaplasty revision.
Insurance, tax and paying
Irish health insurance plans normally exclude cosmetic surgery, except to correct disfigurement from a condition you were born with, an accident or a disease. Labiaplasty for appearance or comfort is almost never covered. Check your own policy in writing before anything is booked.
Revenue gives no tax relief on cosmetic surgery. Relief may be possible where surgery corrects a health issue, at the standard rate of 20%, so keep your receipts and any letter from your doctor.
Some clinics offer payment plans through a finance company. Read the interest rate and the total you'll repay, and never sign on the day of your consultation.
Abroad
Labiaplasty in Turkey is advertised at €2,600 to €5,200, before flights, four or five nights away and time off work. Read labiaplasty in Turkey or Ireland before you decide.
